More than a boat show, this is a major 4 day event which celebrates the marine lifestyle in true Gold Coast style. The 2015 event attracted over 40,000 visitors, many travelling from interstate and overseas to enjoy a full program of events and entertainments as well as a huge display of marine craft and accessories, both on and off the water.

Background

Located on the northern end of the Gold Coast, Sanctuary Cove is a master-planned community built around a waterway with luxury homes, accommodation and boating facilities. The residential estate was opened in 1988 with the man-made harbours making the perfect location for a boat show.

After several name changes, the Sanctuary Cove Boat Show has been running for 28 years and has weathered economic times to hold its current enviable position on the boating calendar.
The boat show is set around the Marine Village which is the vibrant heart of the complex.

Exhibitors

Organisers have continued to attract the big names to the show and have developed a comprehensive program over the 4 days which includes on-water and open-air displays as well as exhibitions in the pavilion. Over 500 boats are on display, with something for all budgets – kayaks, jet skis, luxury cruisersfishing boats and the top end superyachts.

On land, the showcases include the full range of marine accessories and products including electronics, innovative new marine products, safety equipment, demos, hardware, gear and more.

In the 2015 event wrap-up, organisers noted the show highlights included the big names – Maritimo, Grand Banks, Palm Beach Motor Yachts, Stefan Boating World, Elandra Yachts, Leigh-Smith Yachts, Integrity Motor Yachts and Multihull Solutions, just some of the hundreds of top brands on display.

Entertainment and Events.

The organisers have effectively built an entire event around the boat show, with the program including cooking demonstrations, VIP events, live entertainment, a Kids Zone and a program of luncheons, high teas and fashion events especially for ladies.

Getting And Staying There

Many interstate and international boating enthusiasts use the Sanctuary Cove show as a great reason for a Gold Coast holiday. For locals and visitors alike, the transport is well organised with some on-site parking, a free shuttle service from Movie World which features more parking, ferry from Hope Harbour Marina and in true Gold Coast style, you can even arrive by helicopter from various locations
Sanctuary Cove is located mid-way between the Gold Coast and Brisbane, with airlines offering regular service into both these airports.
