Get up to the beach in Regal style

Sports cruisers around the 40 foot mark are great boats for a wide range of boating activities. They're a great size to take the whole family or a group of friends for a day or overnight trip. They have great spaces for entertaining and relaxing, for gear and toys and usually 2-3 state rooms for accommodation. The flybridge cruiser is definitely a very popular boat for a range of different types of boaters and many manufacturers offer a model in or around the category.

At Jade Boat Loans we provide many of our customers with cheap finance for many sports cruiser models so we’re well aware of their popularity. Especially with those wanting to cover off on both inshore recreational boating and also have a boat with the capability to head offshore to catch the big ones.

The 40 footer is a great size for a lot of things, except when you want to get close, as in right up to the beach. When the kids want to swim off the beach, when you want to walk to the local shops onshore, when you want to launch your ‘toys’ from shore - you usually need to launch your dinghy or inflatable and ferry your team to the shore. The draft on most sports cruisers doesn’t allow you to get into the shallows near the beach.

Well, no more. There is now a fantastically versatile option that provides all the luxury and convenience of a sports cruiser and is able to get you right up to beach – the Regal 42 FXO. Worth checking out?

Regal Boats

Regal Boats is a US company, one of the largest family owned boat businesses in the world with over 40 years of experience. Premier Boats in Sydney is their local Australian representative. The brand is known for performance, style and quality and the range extends across cuddy cabins, bow riders, sports cruisers and luxury motor yachts.

Regal 42 FXO Features

The Regal 42 FXO is described as a pocket cruiser at 12.8 metres long with a 3.96 metre beam. What sets this boat apart from many other flybridge cruisers is that instead of having the traditional inboard power systems, its power by Yamaha outboards. The XTO Offshore engines for performance of up to 40 knots and here’s the kicker – shallow draft when tilted up out of the water.

With the outboards up, the draft is only .84 metre, allowing usually plenty of room to get right up close into a beach. Giving owners all the glamour, space and comfort of a cruiser with the convenience usually only available on smaller, trailer boats.

But this feature does not limit the other inclusions you’d expect on a boat in this category. You still have autopilot, a multifunctional instrument panel and extensive space for relaxation and entertaining. The cockpit is large and can be enclosed with clear covers in inclement weather.

There’s a large built in sun lounge up front, walk around access and plenty of space aft for relaxing and entertaining. The galley is well-equipped and laid down with flybridge facilities allowing food and beverage service on the upper deck.

The staterooms are magnificently designed and appointed with space for a king sized bed in the master. Fuel capacity is 1582 litres and water 235 litres.

Outboard v Inboard Considerations

Purchasing a cruiser with outboards instead of the traditional inboards may raise eyebrows or at least a few questions. You still get great performance and power and the outboards may also present cost-savings in maintenance.

You can sit the engines out of the water when the boat is at mooring to limit the build-up of the usual debris. Cutting down on cleaning and maintenance and making the boat a more serviceable option for some buyers.

In relation to your Jade Boat Loan, there would be no difference in the interest rate and other loan factors in regard to outboard v inboard for this type of new boat. Some features of a boat to impact the loan, but in this case it should not have an effect.

Finance for Regal Boats

With all that sorted and no doubt you’re starting to imagine all the great locations you’ll be able to access with a Regal 42 FXO that you can’t with your current cruiser. So it’s time to talk money, or more specifically finance for your Regal.

With Jade Boat Loans, you’ll receive our cheapest boat finance interest rate which is fixed for the term of the loan.
