The Haines Signature 550F is a 5.5m budget friendly family trailer fisher which has been designed to replace the 543 series, but is essentially not an upgrade but a new boat. Longer, wider, higher gunwhales, more storage and loads of features.
New Features, Signature Quality
The 550F is longer than the 543, 11” to be precise and the beam has been increased to 2.41m for greater stability. A versatile boat for fishing, skiing or family day boat, the 550F has 2 berths and 7 persons capacity.
For a budget priced boat, the 550F has plenty of standard inclusions: v-berths, great open plan cabin, safety glass windscreen, well-sized cockpit and efficient rear transom layout.
The huge 177 L fuel tank makes it a great boat for offshore fishing and longer trips.
The helm has received a stylish upgrade with pedestal chairs that can be adjusted for height and swizel, re-designed fascia for easier access to wiring and components and the top of the dash receives a black finish to reduce glare for safer boating.
Storage has been increased and now includes two lockers under the berths, a locker below the floor plus cabin side pockets to stow safety gear and all the other bits you need for a great day on the water.
The neatly appointed cabin has sufficient headroom and is more spacious than it looks. The cabin hatch is fitted with gas struts, which hold it securely while you organise the anchor and for ventilation to the cabin.
The transom is a compact design and the rear cockpit spacious enough for 3 anglers with rod racks and rod holders standard as expected.

With the name ‘Signature’ it is not surprising to discover that you can personalise your 550F with your choice from the exciting range of Gellcoat hull colours and then coordinate with a good selection of cloth trims.
Upholstery can also be selected from a selection of PreFixx range of maritime vinyls.
The Haines Signature 550F handles well as a well-balanced boat and great value, all-rounder in its market sector. A great size to easily handle on the trailer and at the ramp, with good maneuverability characteristics to steer through traffic and then out to the open water in a good stable craft.
