We've been covering a number of major boat shows in our recent articles but we note, that the two upcoming shows - Sanctuary Cove and Sovereign Islands Marina - are both in Queensland. Not everyone might have the opportunity to travel up north in May to check out the latest and greatest in boats. But don't worry, there are a number of upcoming events scheduled in regional areas which should be of interest to some boat owners.
For those in the south-east of Australia that can't get north and are especially interested in fishing, we have options in regional NSW for you to consider and a show ‘across the ditch'.
Albury-Wodonga Caravan Camping 4WD and Fishing Show
Not all boating-related shows are headlined ‘boat show’. Especially for those with trailer boats and those interested in fishing, many of the caravan shows also now include a boating or fishing element. One in point is the upcoming show at Albury Wodonga.
Dates for the diary – 30 April through to 2 May 2021 and the place, the Albury Showground.
The Australian Travelling Fishing Show is listed as a major entertainment at the show. This includes a massive super tank which gives a fish eye view to attendees. See what the fish are seeing when you drop your line. Plus fishing experts will be demonstrating the latest lures and giving tips on the techniques that top anglers use. Could be a good event to upskill your fishing capabilities!

Hunter Valley Caravan Camping 4WD Fish and Boat Show
Another outdoors show with a boating element is the massive Hunter Valley event to be held 21-23 May at the Maitland Showground. This event has over 300 exhibitors and has been running for 24 years. The Australian Travelling Fishing Show also features this show.

Hutchwilco Boat Show, Auckland
To celebrate the opening of the trans-Tasman travel bubble, which is happening as we prepare this article, why not get away for a few days to the biggest boat show in New Zealand, the Hutchwilco Boat Show in Auckland. It’s been running for over 60 years and the 2021 event is scheduled for 13-16 May at the ASB Showground in Auckland.
The list of exhibitors is impressive and extensive and includes:- Profile Boats, White Pointer Boats, Shimano, Yamaha, Sea-Doo, Surtees Boats, Malibu, Innovision Boats, Garmin, Surtees, Osprey Boats and many others.
