It’s mid-year, winter – for keen boaties that means a very important time of year. Boat Show Time! But not in 2020. Due to COVID-19 the big shows will not be going ahead in 2020, at least not in person.
The Sydney International Boat Show 2020 is cancelled but the Melbourne Boat is going online in late July. The show organiser, the Boating Industry Association of Victoria, is holding a virtual boat show.
As restrictions continue to be eased, the entire industry is no doubt hoping that some of the smaller regional fishing, boating and outdoor shows may be able to proceed in some format later in the year.

Princess Yachts: 2021 Princess X80
On the other side of the world, the British Motor Yacht Show is set to proceed in early August. Due to travel restrictions, as none of us can get there from Australia, we’re showcasing a new model from British luxury motor yacht manufacturer Princess Yachts: The 2021 Princess X80
Representing in Australia through Sanctuary Cove-based Princess Yachts Australia, Princess Yachts offer superb luxury yachts in a number of ranges. The X80 is a new addition to their X-Class which is a superfly collection with its super flybridge.
With an overall length of 25m and a 6m beam, the X80 is luxury from bow to stern but with the indoor and the outdoor spaces distinctly separated, in line with the X90 and X95. The spaces are adaptable to provide flexible use and accommodation. The super flybridge concept provides a true alfresco experience while the extensive glass area along the main deck essentially bring the outdoor in to further enhance the liveability.
Below deck, the X80 has four cabins with accommodation for eight guests. Guest cabins are located from mid-ship forward while the crew quarters with accommodation for three, are located aft.

New at Cruise Craft 2020
From 25m luxury British motor yachts we go down in length and closer to home and check out what’s new from the Brisbane-based team at Cruise Craft for those in the market for a fishing boat. Cruise Craft is a very popular brand in fishing boats and they’ve recently launched the F360S.
This is a 5.7m fibreglass boat, similar to the company’s F350M. It features their new-generation hull, foam-filled composite build and has been especially set-up as to be a more affordable option to attract different buyers to the luxury brand.
