Boat Shows and Boat Loans: Wraps, Reminders, Recommendations

It’s great to see the boat show scene back in full swing with the Sanctuary Cove Boat Show hosting a sold-out event over 4 days. For Queenslanders, the Brisbane Boat Show has been sadly cancelled for 2022 but is set to return in 2023. But for the remainder of 2022, boating enthusiasts have several dedicated boat shows coming up. Also, keep an eye out for regional outdoor and lifestyle shows which can often also include trailer boat exhibitors.

We provide a wrap on Sanctuary Cove for those who couldn’t make it, reminders of what events are coming up and our recommendations for boat loan options for show attendees and other keen buyers.

Reminder: Jeanneau Boat Show

Yachting enthusiasts can head to d’Albora Marinas at The Spit in Sydney’s northern suburb of Mosman for the Jeanneau Boat Show. To be held from Wednesday 27 July to Tuesday 2 August.

According to MW Marine and Jeanneau, the decision to hold this water display at their location was made as a result of limited availability of stock and is in place of attendance at the major Sydney Show.

Buyers can enjoy guided tours of vessels by the Jeanneau reps and one-on-ones to address questions. Book tickets to avoid disappointment.

Rev Up: Sydney International Boat Show

Tickets are now on sale for this must-attend – the Sydney International Boat Show. A full five days from 28 July to 1 August at Sydney’s Darling Harbour. On-water and indoor displays will cover a wide range of boats to suit all budgets and boating styles.

Don’t miss this one – tickets are on sale from May 30.

Melbourne Boat Show Reminder

Victorians have to wait a little longer as the Melbourne Boat Show is scheduled for 20-23 October at Docklands. Those interested in attending can register to receive more information as it becomes available.

Boat Loan Recommendations

If planning to attend a boat show and hoping to place an order, it is highly recommended to secure your marine finance before arrival. This can place you in an ideal position to confidently place that order and expedite delivery. Many boat markets have experienced supply issues over the past few years and with the computer chip shortage ongoing, the limited availability may also continue with some makes and models.

Having your boat loan sorted before attending a boat show or before visiting a dealership, may be the difference in significant delivery wait times. Possibly get you to the point end of the queue faster!

Jade Boat Loans offers pre-approved marine finance across our boat loan products with the Secured Boat Loan the most popular and widely-suited for recreational boat buyers. This loan has a universally recognised secured loan format but with the special Jade cheaper interest rates pricing.

Pre-approved loans attract the same interest rate as loans that are applied for after a purchase decision has been made.

Talking of interest rates, the RBA Board is set to meet next week and that could mean another increase in the cash rate and the ensuing rises in rates across lending markets. The RBA has indicated that it sees further increases ahead as necessary to return inflation to target levels.

For those planning to purchase a boat with finance, the message could not be clearer – buy ASAP and use our broker-style lender service to secure the cheapest interest rate marine finance. Compare the interest rates currently available on boat finance from several lenders. You’ll immediately see the difference in repayments that even a slightly higher rate can make.

Whether attending a boat show or just doing the rounds of showrooms and dealerships, having your boat loan secured prior can be highly beneficial and carries no obligations.
