Don’t Forget Your Pre-Approved Boat Loan

Before heading to Sanctuary Cove or any other boat show, serious buyers arrange their pre-approved boat loan. Several objectives can be achieved with a pre-approved boat loan. The primary purpose is to ensure marine finance is confirmed so buyers can confidently proceed with their purchase.

Another useful purpose of pre-arranging finance is to gain an indication of the loan amount a buyer could be approved to borrow.

Applying for finance is not a process that all individuals address regularly. Especially boat finance. With potentially a considerable time since the last loan application, many buyers may be completely unknowing and doubtful about exactly how much they can borrow. Add to that the uncertainty of what the loan repayments may be at current interest rates.

An added complication to guesstimating your loan in the current interest rate scenario is the RBA decision to raise the cash rate in May. This is expected to be followed by further increases. Increases will flow through to many lending markets including marine finance.

Doubts may also exist around the guidelines for boat loan approvals. Individuals may not be certain if they meet the lender criteria for different types of loans and for what amounts.

We do assist with calculating quick repayment estimates with our Boat Loan Calculator tool. However this generic loan tool does not have the functionality to differentiate between users. Loan applications are assessed on an individual basis and to find out the amount an individual is approved for requires requesting a quote.

Another key benefit of pre-approved loans is to enable buyers to establish a purchase price benchmark for their buying list. There can be little point in inspecting a whole heap of boats if the price is outside the amount you are approved for finance or beyond the budget you would prefer for loan repayments.

Pre-approved loans provide all the finance information that buyers may require when planning their boat purchase.

No obligation is attached to applying for a pre-approved boat loan. So if you attend a boat show such as Sanctuary Cove with a pre-approved boat loan in your back pocket but don’t find the boat you want or change your mind, the loan offer simply expires.

Pre-approved loans are available on our very popular Secured Boat Loan. This loan is the most commonly used loan type for all types of craft. Our consultants can arrange quick quotes and fast approvals so you have your pre-approved loan swiftly.
